Hello, when adding a new coin, and after selecting a country, can we limit the options of the currency dropdown menu to only show these related to the selected country?
this would make things faster, easier, and with less errors

Yes please!

Although what if we need to select a currency that only exists under another issuer?

Hmmm... if only exists under other issuer, then should not be for that country.

Anyways, the trick is: select first the country with the currency, then the currency, and go back to country and select the right one.

Already thought of it
It shouldnt be the case
if french francs were circulating in morocco (for example), then a currency should be created under morocco for when the franc was circulating, rather than having that currency there with obviously wrong dates

and i would hope this wouldnt have a work around as suggested above, as the target is to avoid such things

There are instances when another country's currency has to be used... for instance, when I moved the pre-1813 Haitian coinage to the French livre tournois (later we made it a Livre of its own, but I digress).

But a work around might be that in such a case, we select the currency first, from the list of all currencies; then we select the country.

Correct, this is the current way to do things.

What I meant is IF limitation of currencies by country is implemented, then you will need to select country first, then you would be able to select from limited list of currencies for the selected country.

Unless program erase the selected currency when you change the country, it should work to mix countries and currencies.

Hello,

Ideally the currencies should be repeated in each country if they are used in several countries (e.g. French livre tournois in Haiti), especially since the dates of usage of the currency may differ from one country to the other.
So we should first select the country and then select among a short list of currencies.

Until we achieve the goal to have the currencies created for each country where they are used, there should be an option to see the full list of currencies as today.

Well, for the starters, after you select any country OR tokens OR Exonumia, the field "Currency" could be split in a smaller portions already - a quick win perhaps? When selecting Token, even "Type of coin" value could be preset to Token.

Hello,

This is finally implemented :)

A big thank you to Jarcek and Pejounet who created all the needed currencies over the past months!

We still have about 250 coins to update in order to get 100% of the coin having a currency from their country instead of reusing a currency from another country. In that case, the coin modification page still shows that foreign currency. Otherwise, only the currencies from the country (or parent country) of the coin can be selected. If any currency is missing feel free to request it on the forum.
AWESOME!
Thank you everyone!
