Hi everybody!
Is there any news on if there will be a new quarter dollar series after the 'America the Beautiful'-series ends? And if so, what will the subject be?
I've only heard rumors about the subject 'Prominent American Women'.
Also out of curiosity, what would you like the subject to be?
Kind regards,
Eddie

I’d love to see some new flora and fauna besides the ones on the current circulating quarters.

Probably a long shot, but why not give the Vice Presidents some love?
There's a Presidential dollar series, and a First Lady series too, so maybe the VP deserves one of its own, even if the first holder of the position, John Adams did call it "the most insignificant office that ever the invention of man contrived".

The legislation that created the America The Beautiful quarters allows Congress to authorize a second series of Parks. If this doesn't happen, the 1932 eagle design could return.

In the earliest years of our country, the Vice President was the "First Loser" in the Presidential election by the Electoral College. At that time, it was the Secretary of State who usually succeeded a President.

I would think, what ever the subject, that all the States and Territories would get a coin like the past series. That would rule out Supreme Court Justices and Vice-Presidents (I don't think that a VP has come from Guam). Making famous women from each state a likely subject.

I wonder if State Capitols (buildings) or Capitals (cities) would be popular as a subject.

And if they run out of ideas, there are always the 50 State Governors. That'll keep them busy for a while.

Commemorative dimes? At first I was skeptical....
Then again there have also been commemorative series on the penny and nickel recently as well... so perhaps I shouldn't dismiss it too quickly! Just doesn't seem to be much point in issuing tiny commemorative coins from my POV.

Spain issued new designs on every denomination of circulating coins prior to issuance of euros. I loved trying to find those little designs.

And now that I think of it, Cuba issued a dime sized commemorative as part of its set of coins to commemorate the 50th anniversary of its independence in 1953; if I remember correctly that coin was actually minted on the same planchets as US dimes!

That is an good point, the quarters have all been
every state and territory series.
The judges and Vice presidents would have to be gold dollars then, as were the Presidents.

I am in favor of returning to the 1932 eagle design, or another single, permanent design. I am done with all the circulating commemorative quarters. It's OK in limited release, but collecting 112 quarters over 10+ years is too much.

I would have to agree here. its been 20 years now of commemorative issues and will be 23 by the end. I was 11 when the last eagle quarter came out and i am now well into my thirties. I would prefer they take a break.

The mint is making a tidy business in these. I believe there is an inexhaustible demand.
You should be happy the gubmint has a stream of honest income besides taxes.

I imagine the government could make a killing if they would have commemorative banknotes. More room for majestic or highly detailed vignettes...
