I found this coin on my attic. Could anyone help me with identification and maybe tell me if this is worth something?

-

On the front of the coin it said:
"MAR:TH:D.G.:JMP:R:COM:FLA:"
I looked it up and it had something to do with Maria Theresia, but i could not find the same coin.

On the back of the coin it said:
"Castellania veteris burgi Gandensis"
I am guessing this is some sort of veteren badge for someone from the area of Ghent?

I would appreciate if someone could help me on this one.
Thats is probably a medal and not a coin, still looks very pretty and interesting.
too bad it has been mounted on a jewelry.
will try to check later if I can find out what it is and what it commemorates

That is a nice medal / jeton from the Spanish Netherlands, about 1744.

Small nitpick but I believe that would be the Austrian Netherlands! The Habsburgs hadn't ruled Spain for 44 years by this point. :D

You are correct - it is the Austrian Netherlands as opposed to the Spanish Netherlands. Thanks for the correction.

Thanks for the translation. I live not too far from Ghent, so i have seen the Gravensteen Castle a couple of times.
