Cleaning old Roman coin - suggestions

3 posts
Hi,

I'm having following set of roman coin which I believe either copper or bronze. None of the coin can be identified as it corroded badly. Can some one suggest a way to clean them without any damage. I've seen some youtube videos of cleaning them with sharp tools. I tried with a toothpick and it can't take away any of those corroded.

Last year I wrote a forum post about my own experience cleaning ancient coins, maybe that can help: https://en.numista.com/forum/topic74610.html However judging from the photos I don't think your coins can be cleaned except for maybe the two in the middle.

Good luck! :)
I collect and deal in ancient Roman coin. In case you're looking for affordable ancient coins or need any help with the coins you already have send me a message.

Thanks,
This seems much helpful. I'll try this.
