Greetings,

Modified the catalog for https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces43264.html, the 5 Pesos (World Cup Germany 2006).

The mintage of 50,000 agrees with the Schön catalog, Weltmünzkatalog 21. Jahrhundert- 2001 - 2016 ISBN 3866461380 Pg 62 for KM# 146:

The proposed mintage also agrees with the Certificate of Authenticity:

Greetings,

This online documentation on the Banco Central de la República de Argentina website cites a domestic coinage, "Cantidades acuñadas para distribución nacional", of 2,000 pieces: https://www.bcra.gob.ar/MediosPago/Moneda_Mundial_de_Futbol_Alemania_2006_i.asp

Hi,

rejected for the same reason as your other thread about Uruguay coinage: quantities in your sources are expressed as maximum allowed for strike, not as quantity currently issued.

I previously set this thread to Started because I do have a pending request to add that information to the comments section. The information is still relevant, but should only add to the page--not replace anything currently there. :°

Dear pejounet,

In this case, the Banco Central de la República de Argentina explicitly states that the coinage of 2,000 is a national coinage.

The Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre - Real Casa de la Moneda (Royal Spanish Mint) produced tens of thousands of these commemorative coins to be included in their FIFA international coin sets, as shown, and sold individually, as documented.

Doesn't matter if it is for national or international market, you have no documentation proving the actual quantity issued. All you have is a potential maximum number.
Then there is no need to open a ticket on forum. You may try to submit this info to the referee within the comment section.

@Sulfur: I know, but this kind of requests shall not be posted through ticket. It's just a comment addition.

Dear Pejounet,

You missed the point.

You have no documentation that production of the coin fell short of the production limit.

None whatsoever.

The production limit stands in lieu of the actual production until any actual production is reported as less than the production limit by the mint.

No such shortfall has bean reported by the Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre - Real Casa de la Moneda for this issue.

Miguel del Rio
Dear Pejounet,

This is an example of an issue that missed its production target from Weltmünzkatalog 20. Jahrhundert- 1901 - 2000 46.Auflage 2018-19 ISBN 978-3-86646-152-9 Pg 666 Schön#98:

You will notice that the original limit is crossed out, and replaced by the actual mintage.

However, unless the national mintage and the international mintage are reported by the same authority, any attempt to derive a "global" mintage is pure speculation.

As another example, Peru is an issuing authority that takes responsibility for the all of licenses granted for its coinages, both national and international. See http://www.bcrp.gob.pe/docs/Transparencia/Normas-Legales/Circulares/2006/Circular-006-2006-BCRP.pdf

You will see that the 50,000 maximum mintage reported by the FNMT-RCM of Spain is split between a 5,000 national mintage and a 45,000 international mintage for the Peru's contribution to the same World Cup Germany 2006 series.

I state again, you lack documentation that the global mintage is NOT 50,000 for this popular issue.

Best regards,
Miguel del Rio
