Proof Swiss 5 Franc?

4 posts
Hello! I was searching through my foreign coins & posting them & I can across a 1999 B Swiss 5 franc. It seemed quite shiny for its age of 20 years & also had a deeper camo then the other swiss coins I own.
I'm not familiar with world proof coins so I honestly don't know the answer.
That's not a very good photo to judge by but I blew it up and based on what I can see it is not a proof or high quality coin. Copper / Nickel coins have no problem staying "very shiny" for a very long time under the right conditions.
I'll try to post better pictures in a second.
You have a normal-version-coin (struck for circulation) on your table. Mintage of proof-version 1999 was 5,000 (I guess: Probably in mint-sets. And nobody would destroy such a set so put the proof coins into circulation).
