Looking to swap coins and banknotes: updated

6 posts • viewed 270 times

The coins are as follows:

I'm looking to swap these coins for anything, really as long as it's graded F at lowest and isn't worthless junk.

I'm also willing to swap coins for banknotes, silver for copper, hammered for modern etc.
I'm especially interested in coins of queen Victoria and old American silver coins and banknotes.

Naturally I will send first but I will only swap with members who have at least 20 positive ratings or who have been active on the forums for a considerable time.

Currently my profile shows that I'm not swapping at the moment but that's because lately I've received several swap requests from people who haven't bothered to read my profile.
I am in fact open for swaps, I just don't like it when people click on my name on a list and send me a copy pasted message containing five words at most and wish to trade common junk that is usually sold by weight against big old silver coins.

Swap values will be based on how much these coins actually sell for, we can look that up later.

I will let you grade these coins and I will grade the coins that I want from you, if there's a disagreement about each others grafding standards then we should try and find a common ground or simoly pick another coin.

I will only swap by registered mail or in person in either Helsinki, Tallinn or Pärnu.

About half an hour in and I already received a message from a scammer with three ratings of which two are given by a profile that's obviously operated by the same person.

Come on, you've got to try harder than that...

Edit: nope, checked the third rating and it was given by someone who has no ratings at all.

Is one of this "extra" profiles, without giving names, a Numista member since 4-Dec-2018 from Romania?

Kind of same story with me, 3 months ago, exaclty same message and nothing to give (rejected the swap since minute 0).

Here are some banknotes that I'd like to swap for anything old that isn't found everywhere in Europe especially pre-1969 American, pre-1954 Canadian, Chinese, Japanese and pre-1960 Thai banknotes.

Catalogue values don't really represent the actual market value of collectables so I'd prefer to discuss the swapping values individually for each banknote and see how much they actually sell for based on regular prices on Delcampe, Ebay, MA-shops etc.

I can provide more detailed pictures once I know what you're interested in exactly.

Banknotes don't weight much anything so I'm willing to do smaller sized swaps in this case by unregistered mail, registering is a must for a higher value swap though so keep that in mind.

Pre-decimal British pounds of various grades and signatures, mostly pre-war.

Germany - 100 Mark 1920.

Nazi German occupation money of various grades used in eastern Europe during WWII, 20 reichsmark 1940.

Estonian krooni banknotes of the 1st republic, 10 krooni notes are all of 1937 and the 20 krooni 1932 ones are all UNC and have consecutive serial numbers.

At the bottom there's two Finnish pre-independence notes, 20 markkaa 1898 and 100 markkaa 1909 which has been repaired with glue.

Indonesia - 10 000 rupiah 1964, Bulgaria - 500 leva 1945, Albania - 20 franka ari 1926.

Soviet Union - 1 and 25 roubles 1947.

Soviet Union - 10, 5, 3 and 1 chervonets 1937.
1 chervonets = 10 roubles.

Update

I'm coming to Algarve and Lisbon later this month, I was given very little time to prepare for this so I couldn't inform anybody about this earlier.

I must put all bigger swaps on hold until I come, I'm going to Portugal for a total of roughly three weeks and I'll be back in Finland about a month and a half from now.

In about two months I will be moving to Estonia do there's that too.

If there are any Portuguese collectors here who would like to swap in person let me know in advance because I'm not planning on taking my collection with me, however I can bring some with me if you let me know in advance.
