Were U.S. Kennedy Half Dollars ever released into general circulation past 2001? I don't collect coins if they were only produced for collectors

But were they released to banks for the public? Or only available for collectors through the mint?

It was 2002 they stop making for general circulation. 2002 up made only for collectors.

Mintages were never high after 1971 with an average of 20 - 50 million a year compared to 500 million - 1 billion for quarters. But after 2002 it drops to like 4 or 5 million per year and that is pretty much all set coins.

I think its the same with the $50 note, you don't see many. I noticed a lot of gambling videos, when they are paid out its always $100s and $20s.
I love coins, both old and precious and also change coins. If its round and shiny, it will garner my interest. I also collect stamps and have an abiding interest in History, Archaeology,  and Social Issues.  I also worship the musical god Prince.

Actually, three of the banks here (Philadelphia area) now give only 50s in their ATMs. I've had some interesting conversations with cashiers at certain stores who think they're fake.
