Are these fake? [solved]

Hello!

So, I compulsively spent $4.18 and $1.7 (for a 1964 Portuguese Timor 10 escudos and a South African florin respectively) last week from some random guys on facebook (Why? Drunk shopping. Thank God, I didn't do worse.)

Got them today and judging from the price of the florin ($1.7) and its messy reed, i'm almost sure that the florin is fake. I only used a ruler and the thickness of the florin is not more than 2 mm, and the weight is 11.00.

But the 10 escudos is kinda ok. It weighs 7 g, the thickness and diameter are ok too. Tthe problem is, both of them smell like old brass coins. It reeks.

Should I accept the fact that I just wasted $5.78 on fakes? Is the 10 escudos not fake? What should I do with the (allegedly) fake florin? should I stop drinking and procrastinating?

I would like to hear your opinions on them (:

PS: I haven't touched any alcohol since then.

Hi, they look ok to me, at least from this low quality pictures. A ruler is not a tool which can measure a coin on the right way, you should have a caliper for that.
I guess you can have a drink...cheers

Hi! Thanks for your opinion (:

Yeah, I do need to buy more tools (eyepiece and caliper), I hope that I can get some this year ):

So, I took some more (hopefully better) photos...

Thanks for your reply.

Yeah.
It makes it look fake the first time I soberly saw it.
