20,000: A New Step

20,000: A New Step

20,000 is...
  • ...the distance in leagues covered by the Nautilus in the novel from Jules Verne
  • ...50 times the height in meters of the Empire State Building
  • ...5 times the length in kilometers of the Mississippi river

20,000, is also... the number of coins in Numista catalog!

About one year after the 10,000 mark, Numista just took a new step.

20,000 coins collaboratively added in the catalog
20,000 coins which can be identified and registered in your collection
20,000 coins which can be traded through Numista swap system

"20,000 leagues" is actually a horizontal distance, not a depth! See the following quotation from Wikipedia:

"The title refers to the distance traveled while under the sea and not to a depth, as 20,000 leagues is 2.7 times the circumference of Earth. The greatest depth mentioned in the book is four leagues."

20.000 coins ? probably it is much more, there are 20.000 types listed.
And many types are combined to 1 coins, while KM lists them as seperate.

The next 10.000 will be easy, after that it will be hard ........
