Swap and get what you want!

Swap and get what you want!

A new feature was just published on Numista. It should meet the expectations that many of you told me about recently.

You can now specify which coin you wish to get and which coins you don't want to get. This way, you will be able to find which members really offer what you are interested in.

To avoid having to individually select each coin you are interested in or refuse to collect, you can specify your wishes by criteria. For example you can specify that you want only US coins, excluding gold coins. Of course, it is also possible to add a coin individually to your list of wanted or unwanted coins.

Set the new page "Your wishes" and enjoy the results on the "Start a swap", which will give you more personalized figures, and on the swap pages of the members.

Thanks for the new feature. It looks nice. Time will tell if it is useful for everybody, but for me it is.

Can it be by date? I collect coins by date, and in some KM# numbers I only miss one or two coins. If the wish list could check specific coins it would be great. :)

I'm sorry I can't make it by date.

The best way is to add the whole type into your wishlist. This way, when filtering the double coins of a member by "heart" or by "heart or disc", the years for that type will appear although you already own some years.
However, if a member offer a year that you're missing, it won't appear in the figures of the "Start a swap" page.

Hi,
It's all great job Xavier!
If I could suggest something is that it would be good if we could also add some people to our favourite list of users/swappers.
Thanks,
Tom

Excellent!
  A couple of suggestions:
A - possibility to give a name to the criteria you create
B - possibility to create 'standard' sets (eg state quarter dollars)
C - possibility to see somehow how much a potential swap would contribute to:

1) completing a set
2) adding at least one coin to the sets

For example C-2 would be useful because if I'd like to find one coin from Tuvalu and one from Turkmenistan I'd instantly be able to see if someone has both of them without having to go through each one!

Thanks for adding this new feature!!

What about exporting "Your wishes" to Excel? I think it would be very useful, for example when going to a country, being able to take with you a list of the coins you miss from there...  ;)

This site is great! It's very user-friendly and have fast cataloging process.

Would it be possible to display the swap lists only one item for KM#? In example, if someone has 4030 coins of same number and different year, would be nice to hide all this variability and just show one line for KM# (because I collect for variety, not for year). I think this option would be very powerful to find good swaps easier.

"This way, you will be able to find which members really offer what you are interested in."

How does it work? How to find members who offer coins from my wish list? Where is auto-matching?

Thanks,
Malol

Hello Malol,
Go on "Start a swap" page, and click on "Coins that may interest you*" header to get the members who offer the greatest number of coins you wish.
You first have to enter your wish list on the "Your wishes" page and select if you are looking for only your missing coins, only the coins of your wish list, or a combination of both.

Xavier,
would it be possible to add this filter : heart, disc, !  : this way you can select all coins that are not in your collection. This would be interesting for members collecting by year...
Thanks in advance.

Here's a suggestion...

Could it be possible to have a checkbox wish/no to the side of the listing when you do coin searches and look at "Your Coins?" I want to list the coins I have some of but I don't want to take the time to click on each "Coin Category" to add each one, go back and do it again. Too much time!  A quick click, click, click, would be awesome so I can complete the categories I have.

I also agree, to be able to print the wishlist would be great! More options in the transfer to spreadsheet option would as well be good. I utilize that option when I go perusing through dealer's junk bins. It would be nice if I could transfer to spreadsheet what I "don't have" in the categories I "Do have" so that I only have to print off one cross-off list.  :)

Hello Xavier,

thanks for your job and compliments for all.  :wiz:

But in this case I don't see an important modification, maybe because I look for too many coins; and however it's long add coins I want...... I think it is unhelpful  :x
Rarity index was much better !  :8D

Maybe it was better a function to insert conditions of double or which country I collect by year .

However this is a simple opinion, Numista is anyway super !  B)

kind regards

I'm interested in swapping. I have a lot of old British coppers and various other coins. I'll complete my collection listing as soon as possible. Also to the moderators of this site I have in my collection a 1694 French liard and I do not believe that coin is in your listing, could you please add it.

I have a "1 PESO 1991"coin of Dominican republic (KM#80).
On that coin is the name of "DUARTE" under his necknot available.

Is it s new kind of coin or is it a missing kindline in the table?

With regards.

The "Un nuevo Sol" of Peru (2006) there is a note that it contains an accent above the "e".
I could not find that accent.
I think it is a copy from other coins (fe. the 50 centimos), witch has that accent obove the "e" of CENTIMOS.
But the 1Sol contains no "e".

Can it be corrected?

With regards.
