This page describes the syntax to be used when formatting a Numisdoc article.

Headers

When creating headers, do as follow:
Syntax Result
== Header level 1 ==

Header level 1

=== Header level 2 ===

Header level 2

==== Header level 3 ====
Header level 3

Lists

You can choose list items to be numbered or not:
Syntax Result
* First item
* Second item
  • First item
  • Second item
# First item
# Second item
  1. First item
  2. Second item
Asterisk (*) or pound sign (#) must start the line.

If you need to continue an item on the next line, type two spaces on the next line beginning.
Syntax Result
# First item
Suite
# Second item
  1. First item
Continuing the item
  1. Second item
# First item
  Suite
# Second item
  1. First item
    Continuing the item
  2. Second item

Tables

Braces ({ and }) mark the table boundaries. They must be alone on their line. Within the braces, each table line starts with a vertical bar and a dash (|-), alone on their line. A vertical bar (|) separates each column item. Their is no need to change line between column items. Also, you can set header items, beginning the item with an exclamation mark (!).
Syntax Result
{

| A | B | C
|-
| Text A

| Text C
|-
}
ABC
Text A Text BText C
{
|-
|! A |! B |! C
|-

}

Images and videos

Upload first your picture on Numista using the link at the bottom of the editor. Then, simply copy the code displayed below its miniature. You can possibly indicate an alternate text for this image.
Videos must be uploaded on YouTube. Then, copy the video ID.

Alignment

You can align text using the [align] tag, and specify "left", "center", "right" or "justify".
If you want to set an item on one side while displaying text on the other side, use "float-left" or "float-right".
Syntax Result

Formatting text

Use formatting attributes sparingly, according to Numista graphics standards. You should not use them in place of the header codes listed above.

Text color can be specified using a keyword (aqua, black, blue, fuchsia, gray, grey, green, lime, maroon, navy, olive, purple, red, silver, teal, white, yellow) or an RGB value. Text size should rather be specified as a percentage of the nominal value.
Syntax Result
[b]Bold[/b] textBold text
[i]Italic[/i] textItalic text
[u]Underlined[/u] textUnderlined text
[color=red]Red[/color] textRed text
[color=#30A570]Green[/color] textGreen text
[size=140%]Large[/size] textLarge text
[size=80%]Small[/size] textSmall text

Links

Internet addresses starting with "http://" and e-mail addresses are automatically converted to hyperlinks.
If an address includes special characters, it may not convert properly. In that case, use the [url] tag. You should also use this tag when you want to display a text different from the link address.
Syntax Result
http://numista.comnumista.com
example@domain.com[/i]example@domain.com
[url=http://domain.com/example of a %complicated% address.html][/url]http://domain.com/example of a %complicated% address.html
[url=http://domain.com]Click here[/url]Click here

HTML

You can possibly use HTML tags. We advise that you rather use the above tags and use HTML only when you really need it.

Also notice that you can add HTML tags to the above tags. In order to do so, add a semi-column (:) and the attributes before the closing bracket (]) of the starting tag.
For example: [img:title="Logo" style="border:none;"]4/4d2c90ddab466.gif[/img].

When tags don't use brackets, type the semi-column and attributes in brackets just after the starting tag.
For example:
{[:style="border:3px dotted pink;"]
|-[:style="color:blue;"]
|[:style="vertical-align:top;"] a |[:style="vertical-align:bottom;"] b
|-
}
*[:dir="rtl"] b
*[:dir="ltr"] a

Deactivating the formatting

You can prevent formatting by using the [nocode] tag. This can be useful when typing HTML or Javascript as it prevents line breaks.
