Ho Mong Kok Shopping Centre

Hong Kong

Ho Mong Kok Shopping Centre is a place crowded with numismatists and philatelists! You can find old Hong Kong or Chinese coins there. Also, many varieties of Asian coins are available, as well as a few foreign ones. It is not a well cleaned place, but the Asian coins there could impress you.

5/55/55/55/55/5 Paradise!

This is the most centralised place for banknotes, coins and stamp collecting. I've been twice, and will go for a third time to visit the sellers. Ground floor, you have affordable notes at the Mrs. Lin's two-side store, with lots to offer. And you've got the Mandarin-speaking lady walking a bit forwards from Mrs. Lin's store.

Huge selection of coins and a great place to buy supplies for your collection. The dealers are nice and if you know them well they can give you a good deal. If you are stopping by Hong Kong it's worth a trip.

5/55/55/55/55/5 I go there regularly

This is quite a nice place, with amazingly diverse selection of coins and other collectables. I've been able to make a few friends with the shopkeepers, most are nice. There are some that are overpriced, but generally there are nice gems which you have to dig for to find.
If you're into banknotes and stamps as well, you'll find this place heaven.
I go there regularly in my spare time. If you were to ask me where I get my coins, the first thing I would think of is here.

Worth a trip if you happen to be visiting, or a one-stop-shop for anything under the sun if you live in the area. Recommended!

5/55/55/55/55/5 Great location for collectors

I always visit here when I'm in Hong Kong to add to my Hong Kong coin collection. Most shops also have a good selection of Chinese or other Asian coins. Some shops also sell other collectables and I've been able to purchase a few medals and badges here too. Try and bargain as much as you can as some vendors put very high prices on their items. Highly recommended!!

4/54/54/54/54/5 Worth a trip or two

At corner of Portland & Soy. Four floors of probably 30+ vendors each floor. More banknotes than coins. I’ve never seen anything in there that is definitively a fake. Prices are generally high, not a lot of good deals. I’ve never been able to negotiate a reduced price on anything more than 10%. Discounts are few. But with a place so large, you’ll certainly find a few new gems for you collection. Open every day, but 50% of the vendors will not be there outside of Sat/Sunday.

Huge variety of coins to select, made my basic 50 countries there. Thanks a lot to the shops! Also, there are coin books for sale in some shops. Nice.
