The old Currency museum reopened as the Bank of Canada museum in 2017. It has a lot of interesting coins and paper money in addition to other items that were used as currency over the years in what is now Canada. Admission is free.

I visited the museum before they closed down for renovations, the new museum however will be larger and with more modern displays. Once called the Currency Museum, they hold the most sought after coins and banknotes in the best conditions known. Ex; They hold the last Canadian penny minted, the first silver dollar of Canada from 1911.
