I would have given 5 Stars but a vendor, whom had put some pieces aside for me, pulled out of the show 3 hours early. Lunch with my son will always trump coins!

Picked up some Colonials at a decent price.

Thought of Camerinvs when I saw some douzains with the fleur-de-les counterstamp! And like him, I could have spent a few extra hours just researching in the large library (Beer Garden would be a nice touch).

Unlike other shows, this show has an excellent focus on children. Refreshing!!

I'll be back next year.

5/55/55/55/55/5 Three (or five) hours well spent

I had to drive four hours to get there, but it was worth it even though I had only three hours left to spend before the closing time for the day, which was 5:00. I bought a few coins and tokens at good prices. I also got two Charlton catalogues at 40% discount, including the latest (9th) edition of Canadian Colonial Tokens. (For those interested, the Charlton rep informed me that the 10th edition would not come out before at least another year.)

It was strange to see quite a few coins, tokens, and notes that I had already seen on eBay.

For anyone who is also doing numismatic research, the location is great because it is (as usual) inside the Toronto Public Library). I spent an extra two hours after the show just doing some research for a short article on a Canadian countermarked coin.

Many Vendors with a little something for everyone's collection.

I added 4 nice Canadian Cents (Vickys) to my collection all in EF or better grade (raw).

Nice little Grading Seminar which was well attended and much needed for this rookie.

Missed the auction portion but, NOT next time!!

4/54/54/54/54/5 1st Big Show

By Peter M. Graham on March 3, 2016

I have attended a fair number of local shows and I am usually gone in about 30 minutes. I spent about 2 hours at this show. Selection was much better, especially on my meagre budget. Prices were better also. I will be better prepared for the next one.
