The Castillo de la Real Fuerza (Castle of the Royal Force/Army), is a 16th century fortress located in Havana; was built during colonial time to control and protect the entrance to Havana Bay.
Known variations on year issues:
1994, minted at Canada: out of the most noticeable difference medal rotation vs. coin rotation on the other years, there are design variations: Castle blocks are different, roof is different. Shield details are different.
2009: Thick date
2013: Thick and narrow date
2016: Large date
2017: Large date, close to rim
The coin was struck at Ottawa, Canada on 1994 issue, and at Havana rest of years, up to date.

El Castillo de la Real Fuerza es una fortaleza del siglo XVI emplazada en La Habana; fué construida durante la época colonial para controlar y protejer la entrada a la bahñia de La Habana.
Variantes conocidas en los años emitidos:
1994, acuñada en Canadá: además de la diferencia más notable, rotaci´ñon medalla en lugar de moneda en los demás años, hay diferencias en el diseño: los bloques del castillo son diferentes, el techo es distinto. Los elementos del escudo tienen diferencias.
2009: Fecha gruesa
2013: Existen con fecha gruesa y fecha fina
2016: Fecha grande
2017: Fecha grande muy próxima al borde
Esta moneda fué acuñada en Ottawa, Canadá en la emisión de 1994, y en La Habana en el resto de los años.
