The note has a thick security strip windowed into four pieces on the obverse. When seen under backlight, the whole strip can be read. It has the South African coat of arms and “SARB 200 RAND” repeated on it:

The security strip also has a multicolour tone, the colours switch between a bright lime green, emerald green, turquoise, and blue when the note is tilted.

The denomination 200 at the bottom-right of the obverse is printed in colour shifting ink - changes colours between copper brown, gold, lime green, and emerald green along with a rolling bar effect when the banknote is tilted in different angles:
