Lettering: Fürst Wolfgang verfolgte eifrig den frechen Räuber u. nahm ihn bei Ellrich gefangen. Er wurde dann in E. von einem hochnotpeinlichen Gericht zum Tode verurteilt. Zwei seiner Genossen wurden gehängt, er selbst durch Landsknechte befreit, setzte sein Räuberleben fort.
Translation: Prince Wolfgang eagerly pursued the cheeky robber and captured him at Ellrich. He was then sentenced to death in E. by a highly distressed court. Two of his comrades were hanged, he himself freed by country servants, continued his robber's life.
Comments
The former municipality of Rieder is a part of the city of Ballenstedt today.
