The Royal Australian Mint continues the Lunar Year Aluminium-bronze NCLT $1 coin releases this time with a two coin set issued in a dual coincard encased in a hard plastic case to celebrate the Chinese Year of the Rabbit in 2023.




This particular coin is the one on the left of the coincard and has a Rabbit crouching.

The Chinese Zodiac is based on a twelve year cycle, each year being represented by an animal. People born in the "Year of the Rabbit" are said to said to be noble, elegant and lovely. The set features the beautiful Rabbit amongst plantain lilies, which represent innocence, happiness and harmony; and the Chinese Lunar Calendar represented as a wheel. Those born in 2023, 2011, 1999, 1987, 1975, 1963, 1951, 1939 or 1927 were born into the year of the Rabbit.
