550th Anniversary of the Birth of Michelangelo
In the centre, the portrait of Michelangelo kept at the Casa Buonarroti Museum. In the background, the pattern characterising the pavement of Piazza del Campidoglio in Rome, by Michelangelo. Arch-shaped, top and bottom, the inscription “REPUBBLICA ITALIANA”. On the right, the signature of the designer “U.PERNAZZA”.

Arch-shaped, at the bottom, the inscription “QUESTO SOL M’ARDE E QUESTO M’INNAMORA” (this sun burns me, and this makes me fall in love). At the bottom “5 EURO”, the coin’s value.
