Obverse

Depicted is the Order of Nakhimov, 1st class, a Soviet naval award from the Great Patriotic War. Established by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on March 3, 1944, along with the Order of Ushakov, specifically for awarding officers of the Navy. The Order was awarded to officers of the Navy for outstanding achievements in the development, conduct and support of naval operations, as a result of which an offensive operation by the enemy was repelled or active operations by the fleet were ensured, significant damage was inflicted on the enemy and the main forces were preserved.
