Comments

The medal is associated with the exhibition "Medal for Combat, Medal for Labor: Awards of the Twentieth Century," organized by Goznak JSC in St. Petersburg (House of Stock Capital, Peter and Paul Fortress) in 2025. The exhibition is dedicated to the history of Russian awards of the 20th century—from the Russian Empire to the 1990s—and also features examples of virtually all orders and medals from the Great Patriotic War, as well as their sketches and prototypes.

The idea of combining "combat" and "labor" in a single award reflects the tradition of the Soviet awards system, where many military orders had labor counterparts.

The anniversary theme (80 years of Victory) emphasizes the continuity of memory of the events of 1941–1945 and their significance for modern Russia.
