The National Parks Centennial series were minted by the Medallic Arts Company and Roche Jaune. The designs on the medallions were done by the artist Frank Hagel and there was forty medallions issued between 1970 and 1984. The series was endorsed by the National Parks Foundation of the US Department of Interior. Each medallion is individually serialized on the edge and presented in a box.
