Comments

Since the beginning of the struggle for Israel’s independence to date, thousands have been victim to terrorist activities, leaving scores of bereaved parents, widows and orphans. Just as thousands of soldiers and members of the security forces have lost their lives over the years, so have many civilians, young and old alike. These civilians represent the highest price that Israel has paid in order to survive as a sovereign State. The entire country is committed to commemorating the memories of those who lost their lives and to supporting the bereaved families who share a common fate. A sense of solidarity is felt for the families of the killed and wounded, both in Israel and throughout the Diaspora. This medal conveys the esteem and appreciation for the victims of terrorist activities and their families. It expresses the deep pain and a prayer to the Almighty to spare us from waves of terror. The flower – symbol of the organization representing victims of terrorist activities, expresses hope for all the broken hearted, for a better future.
