Comments

The Supreme Court is the highest judicial forum in the State of Israel and peak of the Judiciary branch of Israel's government. It is empowered to hear appeals on judgments of district, criminal, magistrates', religious and military courts and disciplinary tribunals. The Supreme Court exercises special jurisdiction when sitting as a High Court of Justice. The Supreme Court sits in a panel of three justices, or any greater uneven number. Certain matters are heard before a single justice. The Supreme Court building in Jerusalem was made possible by a contribution of the Rothschild Foundation and the initiative of the late Dorothy de Rothschild. This medal marks the dedication of the building in November 1992.
