Translation: Yoshida(The mint place name)
Blank.
This is a Japanese charm (called e-sen or esen).
The Yoshida Mint, located in what is now Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture, minted the Kanei Tsūhō coins until 1640. After ceasing production of the Kanei Tsūhō, this amulet coin was minted. Strung on a cord, it served as a counting token for coins, also known as a hundred-count token. Consequently, it was cherished as a lucky charm granting a hundred virtues and was also used as a child's plaything.
There are large and small types.
It is unclear whether the animal depicted on this coin is a cow or a horse.
