Comments

Stephen Album's Checklist of Islamic Coins designates this coin as “Extremely Rare” (RRR).

Per Album, "Ismā‘īl III was the last Ṣafavid for whom coins were struck in his name, though he was never the actual authority, but rather the figurehead of local rulers, none of whom issued coins in their own names.  Several later attempts to restore Ṣafavid rule failed,
none of them striking coins."
