Obverse

The voucher is printed on light beige to cream-colored paper with an age-related patina. The background features a pale blue security underprint with fine ornamentation. The brick-red serial number at the bottom and a green official stamp on the left provide color accents.

The design follows a symmetrical, official layout with the city's coat of arms (a hunting horn) at its center. Above the coat of arms, the issuer's name arches in a single line, flanked by the numerical value "200,000". The lower section contains functional information in smaller print, specifying the redemption periods and participating banks, such as the Urach Commercial Bank.

For counterfeit protection, the voucher is authenticated with a green ink stamp from the municipality and the handwritten signature of the mayor. A geometric border and a delicate guilloche pattern in the background further complicate reproduction. The individual red numbering (B-No. 3740, B-No. 6757) also served for the administrative control of the circulating money supply.

Comments

The "Urach Municipality Voucher" of August 20, 1923, is a historical document of the German hyperinflation. At that time, Urach (now Bad Urach) issued its own emergency money to compensate for the extreme shortage of official Reichsbank notes.
