Crowned half-length armoured figure holding sceptre with fleur-de-lys over right shoulder, left hand on sword pommel. Armour ornate with arabesques. Crown divides an inner circle and the legend around.

Unabridged legend: Ferdinandus Dei Gratia Archidux Austriae

Translation: Ferdinand, by the grace of God, Archduke of Austria...

Reverse

Crowned flat-top shield with composite coat of arms with central shield of Upper Alsace, chain of the Order of Golden Fleece around, two small shields of the Habsburg at left and of Ferrette at right divide legend. Wide Castile tower, checkered crown.
