The reverse can bear several countermarks: “МД СССР” (it means Монетный двор СССР, or Mint of the USSR), “HB”.
The item was distributed outside USSR by the Bank for Foreign Trade of the USSR (Vneshtorgbank).
The reverse depicts a monument of "Glory to the conquerors of space" by architect Lev Lavrenov and sculptor Grigoriy Postnikov. It was erected in Monino (Moscow region, USSR) on 25.10.1962, in the presence of Soviet cosmonauts Yuri Gagarin, Andriyan Nikolaev and Pavel Popovich.
