Issued by the RAM on 20th March 2026 this NCLT Copper-nickel 50 cent coin commemorates the 75th Aniversary of the Battle of Kapyong.
It was issued in a large sized coincard.
This Battle was part of the Korean War and was lead by United Nations (UN) forces—primarily spearheaded by Australian and Canadian troops. They won the Battle of Kapyong in April 1951. The vastly outnumbered UN forces managed to stall and break a major Chinese offensive, successfully preventing them from advancing on the South Korean capital of Seoul.
The coin was also released by Australia Post in a PNC Issue 7 of 2026 (7,000 copies)
