City of Lecce: Roman Baroque art
The obverse side features a perspective view at a detail of the façade of the Basilica of Santa Croce, an emblem of Baroque art in Lecce, and its rose window, as the premier symbol of Lecce’s architectural style. On the top, the inscription "REPUBBLICA ITALIANA" and at the bottom"2026", year of the coin’s issue.

The reverse side depicts in the lower foreground, the Roman amphitheater of Lecce , complemented by an ellipse containing the denomination "5 euro" at the top. On the right is the Column of Sant'Oronzo with a portion of a sundial, a function performed by the statue of the saint atop the column. Around the edge, at the top left, is the inscription "LECCE." At the bottom are the "R," identifying the Mint of Rome, and the designer's signature, "M. Ciucci.".
