Ruthenium

Ruthenium (chemical symbol Ru) is a rare, hard, silver-grey metal with excellent resistance to corrosion and chemical attack. It is brittle in bulk form and difficult to work, and its rarity and cost make it unsuitable for coinage. Ruthenium is rarely encountered in numismatics, except as a thin plating on a few collector coins and medals.
