Obverse

The front of the banknote features a portrait of Tadeusz Kościuszko - During the Kościuszko Uprising, he served as Supreme Commander of the National Armed Forces. To the right of the portrait - White Eagle without the crown - coat of arms of the People's Republic of Poland.

Reverse

On the reverse side is an image of the banner of Scythmen (Kosciuszko Insurgents) with the inscription “ŻYWIĄ Y BRONIĄ” (They) FEED AND (They) DEFEND], which is a shortened form of the motto - peasants feed the nation and defend it. The banner shows a sheaf of grain with a laurel wreath around it against a background of a crossed scythe and pike.
