Mariano Antonio Guadalupe Escobedo de la Peña (16 Jan. 1826–22 May 1902) was a Mexican general who fought to overthrow the final dictatorship of Santa Anna (1854), fought in the First Battle of Puebla under Ignacio Zaragoza and Porfirio Díaz (1862), and helped to capture Querétaro where he personally received the surrender of Emperor Maximiliano (1867). After the French Intervention, he served as governor of Nueva León and San Louis Potosí.
