Silver: The silver medallions are made of Sterling Silver, and use the same dies as the copper. There are supposed to be 250 of the Athletics medallion and a limited number of the other medallions. Sighted are 9 half sets consisting of five of the ten, Athletics, Wrestling, Rifle shooting, Weight Lifting and Archery. Each of the silver medallions are stamped [S SIL]. The Athletics medallion weighs 11.8 grams while the others range from 13.1 to 13.7 grams. The Silver Athletes medallion was supposed to be supplied to various officials at a Games function in December 1981.
