Jacques Marin (1877-1950) was a Belgian sculptor and medalist. Although he did not have his own workshop, he worked extensively with the Hart studio in Brussels. Marin sculpted busts, allegorical figures, war monuments, tokens and medals, and Christian and religious works in bronze, ivory, clay, plaster and wax. His recurring themes were female figures and groups.

A schoolteacher by training, Ernest Bastin (1870-1926) developed a passion for sculpture. After training at the Schaerbeek and Brussels Academies, where he was a pupil of Léon Mignon, he devoted himself fully to his art, creating busts, bulls and plough horses in the image of his teacher from Liège. In addition to commissions for outdoor monuments such as the Gembloux bronze, he also created small models in terracotta or bronze representing animals or people associated with industrial or agricultural activities, as well as sporting events.

From 1930 onwards, the motorization of the army and transport greatly reduced outlets. Our association, now known as "le Demi-Sang Belge", set out to promote the breeding of lighter, more elegant saddle horses, using sires closer to the blood. ...
