Isle of Man parliament: the Tynwald.
Script: Latin
Lettering: TYNWALD THINGVOLLR
Reeded interupted
The name of Isle of Man parliament: the Tynwald originates from the Old Norse thingvollr - thing meaning assembly and vollr meaning field.
Note: coins were distributed mainly in Norway by local coin distributor (and also via Isle of Man Post Office: locally on the island and via their website). On the original certificates of authenticity (in Norwegian) composition was stated as silver plated bronze. However the IOM government acts (Currency determination) says that core of these coins (high relief 32.6g) is made from tombac (Cu85Zn15 = Brass).
The coin was given the appearance of an antique finish.
