Comments

The town was established in 1891 and was originally was named Hunter. Two years later an Odd Fellows lodge was organized and called itself Meridian because it was located on the Boise Meridian and the town was renamed. Irrigation was brought to Meridian in 1892, and by 1902 the area was productive enough that it was incorporated.
