Description
This Two Coin Set was issued to commemorate Treasured Australian Stories.
The first coin relates to the story of "Snugglepot & Cuddlepie" which was written and illustrated by May Gibbs in 1918. The story is about the adventures of two Gumnut Babies who long to see a human. Gibbs' uniquely Australian tale still enchants young readers today.
The second coin relates to the story of "The Magic Pudding" which was written and illustrated by Norman Lindsay. Lindsay's lively characters and distinctly Australian setting have charmed readers since 1918.
The coins were issued in capsules in a Booklet type coincard. (Mintage says 30,000, but only 9,985 were issued)
