How can I find a swap partner?

Last update: 30 November 2023

There are multiple ways to find other users to swap coins, banknotes and exonumia on Numista. This page illustrates these various methods.

Finding a swap partner is one of the steps to swap on Numista. You may be interested to read the full guide to swap on Numista.

Look for the best match

In order to look for the users who would best match with you for a swap, go to the “Swaps” page in the top menu.

The page contains a table of “Swap partners”, which lists all the users potentially interested in a swap on Numista.

You can select the category of items you are looking for from the drop-down list in the "Look by issuer" section.

You may sort the users by clicking on the column titles:

  • Pseudo (user name)
  • Rating
  • Country
  • Number of coins, banknotes and pieces of exonumia that could interest you. The first number is the number of items for swap of the user that might interest you, based on your wishes. The second number is the total number of items for swap of the user.

  • Distance to the user's location (only available if you indicated your location in your account settings).
  • Seniority: age the Numista account of the user.

Click on the name of a user to access their swap list, from which you can initiate a swap.

Look for users who offer a specific item

If you would like to get a specific coin, banknote or piece of exonumia, go to the catalogue page of that item. Scroll down to the section “Get this coin”, “Get this banknote” or “Get this item”:

This section shows the names of the users who offer that item for swap (if any). You can click on a name to go to their swap list and initiate a swap. Pick preferably the users displayed in a darker blue: they are the more active users of Numista and you will have a higher chance to get a positive response.

You can also click “See the details of the coins available for swap” (the same for banknotes or pieces of exonumia). It will let you see the split per year or version if applicable, as well as more details like grades, comments and pictures.

Look for users offering items from a specific country

If you are interested in getting coins, banknotes or exonumia from a specific issuer, go to the “Swaps” page in the top menu.

Select an issuer in the dropdown list for coins, banknotes or exonumia. This will lead to a page showing the items from that issuer and the list of users who offer them for swap. Click on the name of a user to access their swap list, from which you can initiate a swap. Swap with a specific person

If you wish to swap with a specific person, go to their profile page.

A possible way to find the profile page is to search by user name in the search bar at the top of Numista.

Select the user in the list of results to get to their profile page.

You can initiate a swap with the user starting from their swap list.
