I'm stumped by this one [solved]

7 posts

Approx 25mm diameter
5.24g in weight
  1. Might be copper or bronze?
  2. Is that a Bull in the centre?
  3. Should there be the inverted/missing part of the coin on the left?
  4. I have no clue what the text is or says.

Any help appreciated in identifying this one.

Kind Regards, Darren
Its 1/4 Anna coin from IPS - Indore.
Yes it has the bull in the center which represents the god Nandi and the text says Shrimant Maharaj Holkar Sarkar Indore

Thank you for that.

Here is the reverse picture:

I presume that the date is 1944

but which of these three is it?

Due to the size and weight of it I think it must be this one:

hmmm

I've just remeasured and think that it is now nearer to 26mm than 25mm so this is now most likely:

The difference between KM#32 and KM#33 is the text on the obverse
KM#32 has the text - Shrimant Maharaj Holkar Sarkar Indore
KM#33 has the text - Shrimant Maharaj Shivaji Holkar Sarkar Indore

Your coin have the text - Shrimant Maharaj Holkar Sarkar Indore, and so it is KM#32 i.e. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces26095.html

Yes the date on your coin is VS1944. Weight and diameter generally vary for IPS coins and hence do not help in exact attribution of the coin

It very well possible that this coin is a clipped planchet error.
