Hello,

I heard that guidelines were being written for Exonumia (by the way, is there a Google docs?).

As I have been adding coins to the catalogue and receiving requests from members, I have been faced with some doubts which I will share with you, regarding the procedure to follow. I hope that future rules will clarify my questions about :

1) The procedure to follow to create a title for each type of medal/token:

- Should the title of a token/medal be translated or should the original title be left? I think it depends if it's a commemorative medal or a token with the name of an institution. Example 1, 2, 3.

- Sometimes some tokens, for example beers token, have a face value, sometimes not. Sometimes they do, but you don't know the currency. How can we harmonise this in the title? Exemple 1, 2, 3.

- For tokens, should we write Token - Institution (city) or Token (institution; city) or other?

- For commemorative medals, should we write Medal - Federal shooting Festival (city) or Medal - Federal Shooting Festival of X

2) For the descriptions:

- Should the obverse and reverse be described/translated if both are identical or is just the obverse sufficient?

- For commemorative medals, should we write in the description of the event: "100 years of" or "100th anniversary"?

I prefer to use Original title of an item.

Currency is to be used as valuable in the period and area the token was issued (10 Pfennig, 10 Centimes or 10 Rappen for example instead of only 10). Beer is not a curency, the field need to be blank

The Pre-Titel Token or medal is no longer necessary since we have them all under Exonumia and inside exonumia the categories exist.

Translation into english/french is helpful and need to be added, but not all all.
Most important is to notice the original lettering as accurate as possible.

Those information are helping to find a token in hand by entering original lettering in search function.

Better to add more information than less.

Much more important is to have correct rules/descriptions for the categories.
