Valuation required for 20 kreuzer silver coin KB 1872

Hi I’ve been keen to post another coin. It’s taken a few months. but this is what I’ve found today.

I’ve had a look online about this. It seems from one source I’ve checked, that if this coin is in good condition it may be worth something better than the few dollars normally listed.

It was found in a pasture field. Usually I find this preserves them better from ploughing and chemicals.

I can see it’s in fairly decent condition Because of this.

But just how decent I don’t know?

Would very much appreciate a valuation.

Thank you!

Seems to be Yeoman nr 11 in bad condition. There is only bullion and historical value.

I’m not sure about the type tbh. I made sure I didn’t clean the patina this time Hehe.

Thanks for the response.

Nice find.  NGC values this at US $55 in VF condition (bullion value is US $0.83).  Your coin pictures are actually much better than the ones on the coin page.

This one sold on ebay last month for US $15.

I know the coin (to me at least) may seem in not so good condition, due to the staining/patina. But I can see there are no scratches.

I could clean this staining. But was warned against this last time. So overall what grade would you say this is? Could it then be something that could fetch $15 or nearer $55 do you think? That’s quite a margin.

last time I was asked to share some pics to update the archive here. I’ve taken some better pics of this. Please feel free to use them to update the database if you wish to do so.

thanks for your time!

I would grade as VF with the detail in the olive (?) branches and crown on the reverse. Let's see what others members say though.

I will submit your pictures to update the coin page and credit you.  Thanks.

That’s great! Cheers!

I agree the details are in VF range but the coin has environmental damage which usually reduces the value.

Here is an example graded XF by the seller, and to me it seems it has been cleaned in past, but it fetched quite a good price:  NumisBids: Katz Coins Notes & Supplies Corp. E-Auction 7, Lot 604 : Hungary 20 Krajczar 1872 KM# 452 Silver;...

Oh well….

Edit: Funny thing is, when I added this coin to my collection it immediately showed up in my Contribute to the catalogue list under Replace small pictures:
