QE II on banknotes

I found this site while looking for information on QE II banknotes.

www.pjsymes.com.au

It has a compete description of all the images of the Queen on banknotes of the world.

There are 31 images described with details of engraver variants.

There are 33 nations that issued notes with the Queen on them.

It gives the sources for the engraved images, photos or paintings. It describes the jewelry she is wearing and sometimes the clothes.

It is the best site I found and very comprehensive.

Nice site. I found 34 nations a while back.  https://en.numista.com/forum/topic141574.html#p1133193 Guess I'll have to figure out what the +1 is.

My mistake 34 is what is listed I was working from memory and is not always trustworthy.

there is one image that was not issued for Zambia in his list.

He does not have Antigua & Barbuda.

He has British Caribbean . You have British west Indies.

I guess it is a matter of definition between countries and issuers.

I had Antigua and Barbuda on my list. Now I can't figure out why. The only ones I find now are fantasy banknotes and I would have been searching there. His 33 countries was excluding Zambia.

Antigua and Barbuda would have had coinage with the Queen but I don't think they had banknotes. Except that Eastern Caribbean distinguishes by prefix letters to locations.

After deleting Antigua and Barbuda our lists match except for Zambia that I didn't include since that banknote was not for circulation.

In Numista, British Caribbean defaults to Eastern Caribbean States which has the currency British West Indies dollar so I mixed up the issuer. My "British West Indies" banknotes are the same ones as his British Caribbean banknotes.

Edit: I didn't read far enough in the post I linked. A little later I posted this:  https://en.numista.com/forum/topic141574.html#p1133204  Mystery solved.

Here's another thread on Queen Elizabeth II banknotes with some note pictures posted & a few insights into some of the nations.

-Yes, I referenced Symes on my World Motif page too.  It is very helpful & extensive source of info (though I don't think it will be possible to chase notes that were never issued).

I was collecting World currency for about 3-4 years before I realized I was acquiring a lot of nations that featured her image 😆  & yet I still need QEII examples from East Africa, Southern Rhodesia & British Malaya & Borneo.

Yes, I have been referring to the website when I need details of QEII's portrait since the 90s. The last time I visited the site was early this week when I looked up the Queen's portrait for the New Zealand $10 1990 commemorative note (Treaty of Waitangi). I have also contacted him back then and bought a few loose Haiti notes from him. One of them was a Haiti 2 gourdes Tyvek note for a few dollars. Unfortunately, it was a common prefix - M. I believe he got those notes for his research purposes.

Great site for portraits of QEII info.
