Some objects in the miscellaneous series https://en.numista.com/catalogue/series.php?id=7166 have been moved to their correct series, and its issuers can now be removed:

The coins of other issuers are part of homonymous local series and not the miscellaneous series. I can not write their name to create the new series as the issuer is associated with the miscellaneous series. I need to remove the issuer in the miscellaneous series:

Wanted & swap list (euro coins & world coins, exonumia and banknotes circulated) https://goo.gl/AQjfKp - I have euro & world CC coins for swap.

I added more issuers.

Removed them, thanks!

Mais où sont passées toutes les pièces ?

pourquoi faire pleins de séries différentes pour le même thème ???

pourquoi faire pleins de séries différentes pour le même thème ???

Because they are not the same series! They are different series with the same theme, but different issuer, name, design or mint.

The series is not to group coins of the same theme. The series is to group coins issued as a collection by countries, or companies. See

You are right, I did not take into account. I copy here. If that request could be better placed in the public forum, I have no objection.

Explain in the FAQs what a series is and what it is not

FAQ: https://en.numista.com/help/series-110.html

Before creating the series as an entity, the same name was used for series from different issuers. When the entity was created, these homonymous series were joined in a unique series with many issuers.

For example:
Chinese Zodiac https://en.numista.com/catalogue/series.php?id=2598
Chinese Zodiac Bullion https://en.numista.com/catalogue/series.php?id=2600
Chinese Zodiac Series https://en.numista.com/catalogue/series.php?id=2602
Chinese Calendar https://en.numista.com/catalogue/series.php?id=2572
Chinese Lunar Year https://en.numista.com/catalogue/series.php?id=2585
UNESCO World Heritage https://en.numista.com/catalogue/series.php?id=7166

In my opinion, the series was not created to group similar objects around the world. Maybe this could apply in ancient coins. In the case of modern objects the countries issue collections/series of coins with a title and theme. In fact, there are countries that issue two different series with similar or the same theme in different times. The same idea here:

Series are for official series of commemoratives, if Canada made an official Birds of Canada series name them that. If they are just random coins just sharing a motive I wouldn't group them. You can also group circulation issues in a series for some countries that issue new coinage this way.

To group objects from the world with theme UNESCO, we have the tag #UNESCO. If we are thinking in groups of series with the same theme, I wrote a suggestion here: https://en.numista.com/forum/topic157243.html

However, there is not a clear concept of series. Some time ago I sent modification requests to move objects from the miscellaneous series about the Chinese Zodiac, and now to move objects from the UNESCO World Heritage, to their own series (based in sources, and the design of the objects). In fact I requested here https://en.numista.com/forum/topic172774.html remove issuers from the UNESCO World Heritage miscellaneous series, and it was done.

Some referees accepted my requests, but other did not (these were accepted after appeal), because they want keep the coins in the miscellaneous series.

Please, clarify this in the FAQ! The FAQ must be well defined to avoid different interpretations between the various referees and contributors.
