This message aims at: reporting a bug

According to a recent post Numista is only showing partial results because it is “slowly reindexing”.

 

I expect the process is reasonable and necessary, but while it happens people are getting bad results from research. Either they accept the results, accepting the bad information as true, or get frustrated because the see an error. But I can't see any notification of these bad known results.

 

When there is a known bad state for the search results there should be a notice on https://en.numista.com/catalogue/index.php both before and after searching.

Since I posted this request there have been two cases in the threads I follow where people we confused because of results, probably because of the incomplete index:

And who knows how many people were confused in threads I don't follow, or people who didn't report, or who gave up on Numista because it is obviously incomplete.

What’s also annoying is that the status page barely works at all. Earlier this week the search was down for about 20 minutes. Not a singular response from the status page, ”All services are online” was the only thing coming from there! 

I was refreshing the status page over and over again not understanding why it wasn’t reporting?

Always looking for damaged, holed or even unidentifyable coins.

Also, I would expect that nobody is able to process any newly added pieces. Because in the current state, there is no way anyone can check if the piece already exists.
