So, according to numista, there are these mint variants for 1994 coin N#2216.



Here is mine


Bold date

Rough lattice in tower

 

 

rough reeded roof and no lattice work on door.

so, the obverse isn´t the correct one for the bold date reverse.

Any clues? Am I reading the date tickness wrong?

Nope, your coin has a round O in centavos, not an oval 0 which means you have the bold date for sure.

That's where you make a mistake. There are indeed two mints for the 1994 coin, the Royal Mint and the South African Mint. But the South African Mint has two varieties. Yours is CJ# 4.3.2:
