It could have an interesting history with those two holes. The American large cent was a very cheap, round piece of copper - so often, people cut them into gear shapes for use in clockwork, machinery, or to crimp pastries. This could have been part of some elaborate device.
I'm not sure on this one, but people used to use coins as buttons, the holes on that appear to be fitting to that. Now, I see no value in that but my guess is some people do. Even if it was in good condition I wouldn't pay $60. Thanks for sharing!
I thought so. But just trying to find one in that condition took a little bit of digging. All the cheaper ones were either very worn, corroded or damaged in some way. Even some higher priced ones didn't look all that nice. So I guess if you were looking for one of these, expect to pay anywhere from $10-$20 USD for a decent coin.
