Coins of Malaya

Hello! Question is:     Malaya was occupied by Japanese army in 1943-45.What was the reason for striking coins of Malaya in those years?
People still needed money.  There is a long tradition of occupation coinage during wars
Coins were strike by Royal Mint--is it was really nothing more to do for Mr. Churchill but supply silver coins for japaniese?
It is unlikely that coins with the effigy of George VI circulated in Japanese occupied territories. Not even in the Siam controled regions of occupied Malaya.

Malaya was occupied from early 1942 until 1945. Malayan coins have mint dates either 1941 or before or 1945 and later. The only mint date during the occupation period is 1943, which coincides with the year in which the allied forces counter offensive in the Pacific started. I hold it likely that the 1943 coins where minted for circulation in a foreseen liberated Malaya.
Thank you,it may things clearly.
